Philosophy
Bayside was founded by Dr. Jennifer Trachtman with a new approach to veterinary care in mind. With the recent trend of medicine moving toward shorter appointments, less communication and compartmentalized care, she was concerned about the potential for patient wellness to be easily compromised. At the same time, her experiences working in both emergency and general practice opened her eyes to the need for fear-free medical care. As a result, Bayside Veterinary Care provides progressive, fear-free medicine with traditional values.
Our fear-free approach includes offering exams custom tailored to your pet's comfort and longer appointment times. Offering longer appointment times allows us to collect a detailed environmental, behavioral, nutritional and medical history; perform a thorough physical exam; and work together with families to promote our patients' long term health. We have also implemented fear-free and low-stress techniques in the design of our hospital, our patient handling and staff training.
Our comprehensive, integrated approach to veterinary medicine incorporates state-of-the-art diagnostic digital x-ray and ultrasound, a complete laboratory and full pharmacy. Our surgical suite is equipped with all the monitoring equipment needed to perform procedures in the safest possible environment. Our follow up care includes pain management, recheck visits, and extensive client communication.
